Salary:       £30,000 to £32,000
Location:    South Birmingham
Position:     Permanent
Hours:        37.5 hrs be flexible

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a family business as an Transport & Training Supervisor who has previous experience working as a Manager within a fast and challenging environment.  The Transport Supervisor will have day to day management responsibility for all transport.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keep up to date on all new instructions, policies, procedures and changes in relevant legislation
  • Ensure all site operations are carried out within Health & Safety and quality procedures
  • Organise, plan, prioritise and schedule your own work.
  • Monitor, review and refine you working methods to ensure continuous improvement
  • Promote and manage change to produce positive results
  • Ensure vehicles, plant and/or machinery perform at optimum levels
  • Ensure vehicles, plant and/or machinery are serviced and maintained in accordance with procedures and set preventative maintenance plans
  • Ensure internal and external customers’ requirements are fulfilled in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Induct new team members to ensure they have the right skills and knowledge to undertake their roles effectively and to facilitate integration 
  • Manage and maintain Training Matrix (excel Based)
  • Identify Training Requirements
  • Arrange training courses via 3rd Party Providers
  • Conduct Internal Training on specific Plant  
  • Manage information effectively and action appropriately
  • Ensure all key performance indicators are achieved

Qualifications / Experience

  • Organised and able to plan and prioritise (Essential)
  • Able to problem solve (Essential)
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety at Work procedures (Essential)
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office packages, e-mail) (Essential)
  • Previous management experience (Essential)
  • CPC desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Able to coach, mentor and lead others
  • Reliable
  • Able to stay calm under pressure
  • Able to tolerate a significant amount of routine work
