Job Description

REPORTS TO:

TECHNICAL MANAGER

JOB OBJECTIVES:

 

  • Provide professional advisory service to a wide range of Customers and Colleagues.
  • Support Technical Manager in providing a competent modern centre of technical excellence within the Company.
  • Strive to achieve a detailed technical knowledge of fischer products, building materials, design methods as well as working knowledge of competitors products

DUTIES:

 

  • Reply to technical enquiries received in a professional manner
  • Maintain adequate records of all technical contacts, correspondence and specifications submitted by updating CRM (C4C) system daily
  • Disseminate technical information to colleagues and customers
  • Assist with technical report writing
  • Provide effective interaction between technical, sales and customer service departments
  • Maintain effective relationships with the key customer groups offering an effective “point of contact” position for all technical issues via Technical Helpline. Customers are likely to be developed through solid relationship building and excellent technical support.
  • Assist in the preparation of training seminars
  • Carry out in-house testing as required
  • Various other projects/duties that the Technical Manager may require from time to time within the range of the competencies of the individual.

PERSONAL PROFILE:

Skills Level

 

  • Further technical education in a construction or mechanical engineering related discipline, ideally to HND/HNC level
  • Confident providing solutions via phone and e-mails
  • Fully IT conversant
  • Fixing experience not essential, full training available to the right individual.

Interpersonal Skills

 

  • Self-motivated and well organised with an excellent customer focus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with a polite telephone manner
  • Be able to relate successfully on all levels from site staff through to senior management

Experience

 

Minimum of two years in a construction environment, primarily in a technical support capacity with some site experience. Alternatively, good practical ability with ‘hands on’ experience and good technical aptitudes and maths proficiency.
