Job Description

We are looking for a Project Manager for our clients expanding Wireless team in the UK.  The candidate will lead the project team and act as the primary client interface.  The role is initially based in Reading and will involve travel to and from our client’s offices.  They will be joining a very experienced team of talented individuals with expertise across a wide variety of engineering disciplines and proven success in delivering large scale projects.

As a Project Manager – Wireless,  you will be responsible for :

  • Ensuring the project is delivered in compliance with initial timeframes, quality and H&S Regulations
  • Managing the delivery of the project from start to finish including Client acceptance
  • Ensuring profitability and managing job costs
  • Ensuring customers’ expectations are fulfilled & build confidence & trust
  • Managing project scope, budget & schedule • Define resource requirements
  • Initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling and closing of the project
  • Define & continually improve project processes
  • Appling new technology in an innovative way to streamline delivery processes
  • Establishing, refine & evolve project tracking & reporting tools
  • Project reporting to Client, Senior Management Team & Project Team
  • Driving program delivery from one phase to the next
  • Supporting the SHEQ Manager as required always ensuring compliance with Company Policy
  • Liaising with client on site designs & technical requirements
  • Getting involved in the commercials by preparing quotations, request GRNs on a weekly basis to facilitate prompt invoicing and minimise WIP accruals
  • Having regular 1-to-1s with your direct reports, conduct probation reviews and performance reports

To do this as a professional, you should match with following requirements: 

  • 5+ years in a similar customer facing role during network rollouts
  • Knowledge of Acquisition, Planning, Design, Build and Operations phases
  • Excellent written and spoken English required
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Demonstrable industry experience or 3rd Level degree with focus on engineering / telecoms
  • Evidence of on-going professional development
  • PMP or Prince 2 or Project Management P.G Dip or master’s an advantage
  • A broad knowledge and understanding of the various site solutions, emerging technologies, and passive/active infrastructure as part of wireless network rollout
