Job Description

As a Multi Trained Operative you’ll support our contractual obligations for each customer ensuring their day to day business needs are met in line with Service Level Agreements.

This position may require the Multi Trained Operative to spend large amounts of time (if not exclusive) on customers' premises.  This will make you an ambassador to our Client and principle contact for handling a range of customer specific tasks across an array of different departments covered within your responsibilities.  In such circumstances, you must always represent the client with professionalism and in the event of a problem you must advise the Operations Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with company guidance adopt a best practice culture on all aspects of Health & Safety, ensuring full compliance with policies and legislation that are in place for your safety and the safety of others.
  • Use Leave Planner to record holidays, sickness and absence.
  • Recognise and work with the OnLogistics Circle of Values and uphold in your day to day role.
  • Ensure you are at your place of work on time and wearing the uniform and PPE provided.
  • Understand and apply the company waste streaming policy and dispose of your litter in line with this policy set by the SHEQ Manager or the Customer.
  • At all times abide by all customer rules and standard work when working on their sites.
  • Perform an active role in support of Continuous Improvement.
  • Perform a range of task specific functions including, but not limited to:
    • Under certification operate mechanical handling equipment, e.g. Forklifts, Pallet
    • Trucks, Sack Trollies, platforms and lifts.
    • Contract Packing and Kitting.
    • Pick and Despatch commodities under storage.
    • Stores picking.
    • Component batch and assemble.
    • Asset movement between value streams to aid linkage and flow.
    • Inventory checking and control.
    • Despatch and administration of finished goods to external carriers.
  • Each of the above tasks may be company specific or customer specific. This will depend where you are deployed within the business. Each task will require specific training and sign off before you are allowed to carry out.
  • If you are unsure about how to perform a task, please raise this with your line manager who will arrange for the necessary training to take place. YOU MUST NOT perform tasks without prior training!
  • Using the Warehouse Management System provided transact material flow from receipt to despatch.
