Job Description

This Fleet Compliance Manager will provide and lead a total Logistics Service for the Company and its customers, adapting to changing requirements, quality and cost.  The Fleet Compliance Manager shall also be required to assist any department that requires logistics expertise.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage Fleet (LGV & minibus) in all areas of compliance and road safety

  • Tachograph analysis
  • Service planning
  • Daily Fleet Checks
  • Manage infringements

Liaise with haulier and fleet management providers

  • Service levels
  • Routes
  • Manage Costs

Manage driver supply

  • Liaise with Driver Agencies
  • Manage Agency Drivers
  • Manage Costs

Full traceability of compliance

  • Maintain Driver records in accordance with DVSA and EU rules
  • Attain and maintain compliance BRC 
  • Maintain all records accurately for fleet in accordance with DVSA and BRC

Manage permanent driver team

  • Manage disciplinary
  • Manage Driver hours
  • Manage infringements

Manage daily Out-load Plan

  • Ensure cost effective out-load plans
  • Adhere to customer delivery times
  • Ensure changes are managed in a timely and accurate manner

Haulier Costs

  • Monitor the market on a constant basis to achieve the most cost-effective price
  • Negotiate with support from BUUK Distribution and Transport Manager, the most cost-effective haulage rates 
  • Monitor fuel and equipment rates to ensure most cost-effective solution is achieved

Driver Hours Compliance

  • Liaise with Tachograph Agencies 
  • Monitor Working Time Directive
  • Managed an up to date Road Transport Operation Manual

Skills & Experience:

  • Transport Manager CPC Qualification (National and International) 
  • 5 years’ experience in Logistics 
  • Good understanding of UK geographical knowledge
  • Good level of Maths and English
  • Excel competent 
  • High level of people management skills
