Job Description

It’s an exciting time to be at our client as its business continues to grow and evolve, with an opportunity to develop professionally and gain experience in a transforming and supportive Finance team.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner / Finance Business Partner, the role will involve developing and maintaining the finance business partner service to key business stakeholders. The business analyst will work with the partnering team to provide analysis and insight to the business that drives opportunities, manages risk and supports delivery of strategic plan.

Responsibilities

  • Support future business performance through acting as a trusted, visible and accessible point of contact to business leaders; providing analysis of financial results and making the link to commercial and operating information to provide insight that will drive financial and operational decisions.
  • Understand the value drivers of the business 
  • Support the preparation of robust budgets, providing challenge if we are off target and reforecasting as appropriate
  • Support the delivery of timely, accurate financial accounts,  balance sheet reconciliations, including month end and year end reports, working collaboratively with the accounting teams
  • A proactive approach; anticipating situations
  • Maintain and report on relevant and pertinent Finance KPIs
  • Implement audit recommendations and improvements
  • Able to build effective proactive stakeholder relationships based on trust and respect
  • Drive a culture of change within the team, encouraging colleagues to be open minded, embrace change and comfortable to admit when they get it wrong 
  • Manage upwards, ensuring service expectations are delivered, proposing appropriate change action when and where necessary.

Experience 

  • Minimum 3 years accountancy experience
  • Previous experience in building trust and demonstrably influencing outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge and practice of business process management, finance operations reporting procedures and best practice internal control processes
  • Confident communicating to leaders across both finance and non-financial stakeholder groups
  • Good accounting systems experience
  • Understanding of appropriate legislation, taxation, risk, financial reporting standards and best practice. 
  • Practical experience of budgeting, management accounting and business planning

Qualifications 

  • Qualified or at an advanced level of progress in studying towards a professional qualification in finance (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent/ QBE
  • Educated to degree level, or with equivalent experience

Practical/Technical knowledge:

  • IT literate with excellent excel and data manipulation skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, be able to translate financial information into meaningful management information to aid decision making and help influence at all levels, to change thinking and behaviours.
